We All Have Our Own Battles

Last night I had a chance to attend a praise night by our Catholic community CFC- Singles for Christ. There are few members of our community who shared and testified how their battles they had to go through

One girl testified about her painful experience while serving the Lord. She was a faithful servant, she serves as a member of music ministry and she always say yes to all the service.

But her faithfulness to the Lord was tested when their family face some trials. Her mom got sick and eventually died after 8 years of battling with kidney disease. She was also fired 3 times and had to file a case against her employer. To top it off, her dad who was working abroad had an accident. She was helpless, and like most of us, question God and his will.

Since she was left with nothing plus a 6 digits debt. She just prayed to the Lord and surrendered everything to him. She let “God be God”

Fast forward, as she testified in front of many people, she was able to cope up to cope up with her battles. She was able to get a job, her dad is with them already and currently blessed with some projects and her debts, she was able to pay for it because they won the case against their employer. With all her hardships she still continues to serve the Lord and the community She turned all her trials into worship and she even compose a song for the Lord

All of us have battles in life, it may be sickness, our career, finances or families. Sometimes we are just stuck in the middle and we don’t know what to do. I myself had to endure battles in my life, let me share to you some tips I hope it would help.

  1. The Fight Plan - In order to win a fight you must know and understand your opponent. Defeating Our opponent - A.K.A trials, problems etc. Whenever we encounter trials we should make solid plans on how to resolve them and stick to it.The goal is to understand and know your opponent (problems) and how to defeat them (resolutions). Remember “God gave you Goliaths because he sees a David in you” - anon

  1. Build a team - One thing that helped me during my depression was my constant communication with my friends. I get in touch with them, invited them for lunch or coffee and shared my heartaches. They helped me a lot by listening and giving me some friendly advices to conquer my problems. They also helped me build my confidence with their encouraging words.

  1. Rest in your Stronghold - In every battle you should know how to rest. If you have been beaten and wounded, it does not help to keep on fighting. Resting doesn’t mean you are stopping, it means you are getting some more energy for the battle. I rest by reading books, watching tv doing things I love like walking alone or taking photos. My stronghold is my home, nothing beats hanging out with friends and family, cooking our favorite food. Being with them recharges me for the battle
  2. Strategize and Execute - since We already have our game plan (from item #1), we have to tactical in executing our plans. We might fail ones, twice, thrice or more. But never be discouraged, the toughest soldiers have gone to several battles so never give up. Research! Many have gone to toughest trials,  they may be your family or friends you can talk to them, you can search for self help books or you can simply go to YouTube and search for inspirational talks. These may give you tips or strategies in winning your battles
  3. When you ran out of bullets, load up! - You need to be brave in facing your battles. Bullets are your virtues (patience, courage, temperance, prudence) you can ask the Lord for these bullets by praying the rosary, attending mass and praying in the blessed sacrament. Prayers. Remember God is always on your side. He will never leave you in your battles, you just need to learn to surrender everything to him.

All of us experience battles in our lives. Battles are temporary, and we should never give up. Every battles leaves us an opportunity to learn and grow in wisdom so do not be discouraged.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Footnotes

10 Things 2017 Thought Me

2017 has been a tough year, but it was heck of an advenuture. I am writing this entry on the 1st day of 2018 and currently enjoying the cold December breeze reminding me that you just survived a tough 365 days of 2017, and this year, this is a time for you to get up my mat and walk! Fail repeatedly - I can still remember the first time I learned how to bike. I fell several times, had bruises and wounds before I had my first 5 pedals balancing on my own. Although the experience was darn painful, I learned how to ride a bike. 2017 I experienced failures (like what I shared in my other post), before i used to deny it and blame it to someone else, but that attitude would only give me another failure. Not realizing my own mistakes would just give me more misery and will not get me out of my suffering. Failing repeatedly means you should face your mistakes and make solutions to correct it. If you fail on your first attempt, try again, if it doesn’t work, then try and look for altern...

Scared?

I like horror movies, I love the thrill of getting scared especially when the story would play in your mind, as if there is someone beside you when you are alone. But what scares me the most, not the ghost or the unknown element around us, but the monthly bills inside the envelope, or a phone call from the credit card collection company.                 I have done some research and found out some of that many people have gone through debt traps just like me, hence, the moment that they’ve discovered that they need to do something. There are many solutions out there that can resolve the debt problem, here are some: Plan – Before your pay day, plan where your money goes. List down all your bills and allocate your earnings to the things you need ex: Savings, food, transportation allowance, insurance, amortization etc...
